US drills with South Korea and Japan as Jap
On Monday, the US, Japan, and South Korea began their joint military exercises, despite North Korea’s continued threats against their alliance.
The exercise involves naval anti-submarine exercises and the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz is said to be taking part alongside destroyers from all three countries.

North Korea warned of retaliation ahead of the military exercises, claiming that they are not engaging in “empty talk” and criticizing South Korea and the US for participating in the Freedom Shield drill last month.
Kim Jong Un previously urged his nation to be prepared for a nuclear attack as a deterrent against conflict.
