
UEW Ranked 2nd Best Communications and Public Relations University in Ghana
According to the 2023 ranking by EduRank, an independent metric-based rating organization, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is recognized as Ghana’s second-best university for communications and public relations.
However, the top position in this field was secured by the University of Ghana, Legon. UEW’s ranking extends to the continental and global levels as well, placing 20th in Africa and 717th in the world.
In the broader scope of university rankings within Ghana, UEW achieved a commendable 4th position out of 67 universities.

When considering African universities, UEW ranked 54th out of 1,104 institutions, and globally it secured the 2,822nd spot out of 14,131 universities.
An impressive feat for UEW is its standing within the “TOP 50%” across 32 research topics, indicating its contributions to various academic fields.
EduRank employs three key criteria to assess university rankings: research output, non-academic reputation, and the impact of notable alumni.
Regarding research output, EduRank’s index highlights that UEW has been associated with 10,814 academic publications and 107,510 citations. These figures contribute to the university’s overall evaluation.
EduRank utilizes a proprietary database encompassing 44,909,300 scientific publications and 1,237,541,960 citations, which aids in ranking universities across 246 research topics.
The organization also incorporates non-academic prominence and alumni popularity indicators to determine the overall rankings.
