Twitter Africa officially starts operations from Accra headquarters
Twitter declared its existence in Africa in April 2021 and mentioned Ghana as the location of the continent’s headquarters.
The following quote was included in the official announcement of the change: “Twitter’s aim is to serve the public conversation, and increasing the number of individuals who feel comfortable engaging in it is crucial, for the world and for Twitter.
“Today, April 12, 2022, we’re happy to report that we are currently actively creating a team in Ghana. This is in keeping with our growth strategy.”
The company then advertised job openings and hired personnel, but it turned out that the majority of them were working from their home nations while the headquarters was being established.
The headquarters in Accra were opened, according to a senior partner manager of the Africa office, who made the announcement on November 1, 2022.
The staff members began working from the headquarters for the first time, according to the official who goes by the handle @mistameister.
“A year ago Twitter entered Africa via Ghana. Today we officially opened Twitter’s Africa HQ in Accra, and for the first time all Tweeps in the region left their home desks and convened to work as #OneTeam,” he captioned a tweet accompanied by a photo of the team.
