In a statement released on December 22, 2022, the Bank emphasized that the review is a component of efforts to facilitate more efficient payments, support a smooth transition to a society where cash is less prevalent, and encourage the use of non-cash payment forms.
“The aggregate monthly transaction restrictions will, however, remain intact,” the announcement states.

The $1,000 minimum KYC account limit has been increased to $2,000 now.
The limit for the medium KYC account, which was previously set at 5,000, has been raised to 10,000.
The threshold for the Enhanced KYC Account, which was 10,000, has been increased to 15,000.
