Sizzla burns platinum plaques received from DJ Khaled

Bad blood appears to be growing between reggae and dancehall performer Sizzla Kalonji and longstanding collaborator, American record producer DJ Khaled.

Sizzla, has put music lovers in amazement over his recent outburst that showed him burning on fire the platinum plaques he received based on his feature on DJ Khaled’s album titled ‘Father of Asahd’.

The eleventh studio album by Khaled, which was released on May 17, 2019, topped the charts.

One of the tracks on the 2019 album that has received a lot of attention is “Holy Mountain,” which features Sizzla, Buju Banton, Mavado, and 070 Shake.

The reggae artist released frightening images on December 8 showing him burning every platinum award he had gotten for the album.

He insisted again that the American producer had treated him and his native Jamaica with disdain.

Kalonji tore the face of Khaled’s eldest son Ashad off the plaques, saying, “Babies are innocent,” and poured gasoline on the remaining items.

The “Run Out Pan Dem” deejay referred to the child as his Godchild and claimed he would prefer to accept the pictures of Khaled’s son as his plaques over the commemorative items supplied by the Recording Industry Association of America.

“You make fun of DJ Khled. You defame Jamaica. Infants are defenseless. The deejay can be heard saying, “Ashad a di boss,” in the videos.

Social media users have been discussing the video a lot and expressing amazement at the reggae singer’s behavior.

Some readers think Kalonji went too far and advise him to take into account the fact that DJ Khaled is one of the only foreign artists who frequently incorporate Jamaican artists into his work.
