The Asokore-Mampong District court ordered 39 students from the Krobea Asante Vocational Institute in Effiduase into police custody. On February 2, 2023, the students—consisting of 12 adults and 27 juveniles—will make a second appearance before the court. They are accused by the Police of conspiring to commit crime, breaking and entering, causing damage, and stealing.
They were ordered to remain in detention while the police continued their investigation by the court, which was presided over by Mr. Samuel Buabin Quansah. The prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr. Kofi Bragodzi, pleaded with the court to remand the suspects so that the police could carry out their inquiries.
