Police pick up friends of barber who allegedly killed girlfriend at Akyem Nsutam

Authorities from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service have apprehended and detained two individuals who are close acquaintances of Osei Michael, a barber accused of perpetrating the murder of his girlfriend in Akyem Nsutam, near Bunso Junction, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The tragic incident unfolded on Thursday when Osei Michael, known by his alias Emeka, allegedly carried out a heinous act by fatally stabbing his 18-year-old girlfriend, Abigail Asare.

The young girl had visited him after her school granted students a short break, as per management’s instructions.

In a bid to aid their ongoing investigation and track down Emeka, who has been evading capture since the crime was committed, the police took into custody two friends closely associated with him.

The authorities have recognized the significance of their involvement in assisting with crucial information that could lead to the apprehension of the fugitive suspect.

The Kyebi Divisional Police, responsible for leading the manhunt for Emeka, have expressed an unwavering commitment to leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice.
