Pastor and 3 others killed as tipper truck runs over their car at Ejisu
At Ejisu-Achina in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region, a tipper truck reportedly collided with a Mercedes Benz, killing four people, among them a senior pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
The fatal accident happened on Tuesday, January 31 at around 12:00. Two other people suffered serious injuries as a result.
According to eyewitnesses, three of the four victims passed away immediately, while the fourth victim passed away while seeking medical attention at a hospital.

The story was told by one Mr. Edward Opoku, who arrived on the site quickly to assist the rescue crew.
“The tipper truck with registration number GR 9570-22 collided with the Benz car with registration number GW 7329-X with the four fatalities and en route to Ejisu Achina, causing major destruction to the Benz car.” When we arrived on the scene, the three men and one woman were trapped inside the severely dented car. It took the (GNFS) officials some time to cut open the wrecked car and free the accident victims.
The SDA pastor, according to what we were told, was traveling to Achina with a male companion when he picked up two churchgoers who were leaving the hospital in their car, but their vehicle ended up crashing with the tipper truck.
The driver of the tipper truck, who is presently undergoing medical attention after suffering injuries, said that he had failed to break while navigating a tight curve on the Achina-Onwe road, which had caused the horrific tragedy.
The deceased’s bodies have since been placed in a morgue.
