
Otto Addo includes Joseph Paintsil in provisional squad for World Cup after public outcry
Joseph Paintsil, a winger for Genk, has revealed that he has been named to Ghana’s preliminary World Cup roster.
Belgian news outlet voetbalkrant.com cites Paintsil as having stated that he has been invited to the pre-tournament camping.
He said that the roster would become official soon and that he would put in a lot of effort to make the final 26-man World Cup squad.
“I’ve been pre-selected. In the final selection, I’m hoping to be one of the 26. Within a week or so, it will be revealed, he promised.

Over the weekend, Genk’s game against KV Mechelen featured a goal and an assist from Joseph Paintsil, who was in commanding form.
As a result of his contribution to his team’s 3-1 thrashing of their opponents to maintain their league-leading position in Belgium, Paintsil was named Man of the Match.
In response to his performance, Joseph Paintsil expressed confidence in his ability to provide more to the Black Stars thanks to his club form.
In relation to the World Cup, he added, “My goal and my assist may also be essential.”
This season, the winger has contributed to 10 goals for Genk, scoring six and providing four assists in all competitions.
Ghana was placed in World Cup Group H along with South Korea, Uruguay, and Portugal.
