Otto Addo announces 55-man Black Stars provisional squad
Otto Addo, the head coach of Ghana, has named a preliminary roster of 55 players for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will begin later this month in Qatar.
Three of the team’s members are from the local area, including goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim of Asante Kotoko and the Hearts of Oak combination of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Dennis Korsah.
Additionally, Al Hilal’s Ibrahim Imoro and former Asante Kotoko midfielder Mudasiru Salifu have been called up for the first time.
For the World Cup in Qatar, head coach Otto Addo is anticipated to reduce the roster to 26 players.

The final preparations will begin when the fifty-five players fly into Abu Dhabi on November 14 to play in a friendly match against Switzerland on November 17 before the tournament’s final roster is revealed.
Ghana, who is competing in the world championship for the fourth time, is assigned to Group H.
At Stadium 974 in Doha, the Black Stars will play their season opener against Portugal on November 24.
The Black Stars are back in action four days later when they play South Korea at Al Rayyan’s Education City Stadium.
Ghana’s group stage journey will come to an end with their eagerly anticipated encounter with Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
