Morocco gets Copa America invite
According to African Football hub’s Nuhu Adams, the Atlas Lions of Morocco may compete in the 48th Copa America, which will take place in Ecuador from June to July of 2024, after receiving an invitation from the majority of CONMEBOL members.
Several sources claim that Morocco has received a letter to this effect, therefore if they accept the invitation, they will be the first African nation to ever compete in the event.
The standout performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup may have increased COMNEBOL interest in the nation that serves as Africa’s benchmark.
According to our understanding, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) will consider the invitation over the coming days before making a decision. Moroccans, who are among the most hospitable people in Africa, have never been known to decline an invitation.

It should be mentioned that the Copa America is the only continental competition in the world that allows an outside team to compete as a Guest of Honor.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup semifinalist will have the opportunity to experience the 10-team competition this time around instead of Qatar’s national team, which was a guest at the previous edition.
Argentina are defending champions of this competition and go into next year’s tournament as favourites though the likes of Brazil, Uruguay and now Morocco could unsettle them.
