
Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu commends Mahama for gracing 2023 State of the Nation Address
Former President John Dramani Mahama received praise from Mr. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the majority leader and leader of government business in Parliament, for attending the 2023 State of the Nation Address presentation (SONA).
At the conclusion of the discussion on the resolution to thank the President for the SONA, which he delivered to the House on March 8, 2023, the Majority Leader commended the President.

Article 67 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution mandates the State of the Nation Address. According to Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the President opened the SONA by recognizing the attendance of notable individuals, this time including the former presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Dramani Mahama.
According to the Majority Leader, former President Mahama declined the offer to attend the delivery of the Message on the Condition of the Country in 2021, following the 2020 General Election. The former President was once again not present at the ceremony from the previous year, and I bemoaned his absence and made it clear that it was not a good representation of the immediately preceding President. remarked Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
