Kennedy Agyapong to be banned from NPP flag bearer race

Attorney Maurice Ampaw has requested that Kennedy Agyapong, the member of parliament for Assin Central, withdraw from the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary for the 2024 elections.

According to Maurice Ampaw, the MP must be disqualified because of some of his statements and actions criticizing some state institutions.

The MP has declared his intention to run for the NPP flagbearership. In an interview with Nsem Pii TV, the lawyer said, “Ken Agyapong’s words against the judiciary suggest that he cannot be a moral leader.”

“Ken Agyapong, when you disparage a judge, you are disparaging my line of work. You cannot be my flagbearer and I will not vote for you. We need flagbearers who are accountable enough to develop humility.

Ken Agyapong must be disqualified from running for the NPP (in the upcoming election) on a number of grounds, one of which being that he is opposed to the judiciary.

“I’m just being honest with you because how do you qualify someone who wants to be a flagbearer but is on record insulting a judge and on record predicting a coup?” In Twi, he spoke.

He went on to say that if the NPP allowed Ken Agyapong to run in the primaries and win, Ghanaians would turn out to vote against the party due to the MP’s actions and earlier utterances.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong referred to the judge’s action as “stupid” for granting him an injunction without first conducting due diligence.

The MP asserts he has a grudge against judges who, while carrying out their official duties, abuse their power.

On the Seat Show of Net 2 TV on Tuesday, September 2, 2020, Mr. Agyapong stated that the reason for his seeming wrath against these judges is that they issue arbitrary injunctions, particularly when it comes to the settlement of land disputes.

“Pay attention to why I’m angry. On August 5, the attorney completed the document, and on August 13 the judge scheduled an appearance. I received nothing from them, and on September 1 you issued a property injunction.

“You are a naive judge, and I will confront you. You make poor judgments. No one served me throughout the 18 years I owned the land, but then I received a call informing me that an injunction had been put in place. Being a stupid judge,” he declared.
