Kennedy Agyapong pledges to create employment for Volta youth
Assin North’s Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a member of parliament (MP) and board chairman of the Ghana Gas Company, has promised to assist in looking into possibilities for creating jobs for Volta Region residents.
He claimed to be discussing ways to create jobs with important parties, such as the regional minister.
The MP was speaking to the kids at the 2022 Youth Week Celebration at the St. Francis of Assissi Parish in Ho.
“On my way here, I was looking around, looking at the landscape. And so I asked Dr Letsa a question- ‘Minister, what can we do as a region for Volta Region so that we can create employment for men and women who are unemployed”.

The Regional Minister had suggested a few points for consideration, and Mr. Agyapong said he would “go over my business plans to see what I can set up to employ people in this Region.”
The MP, who is regarded as one of the country’s most successful businessmen, spent more than 30 minutes inspiring children and churchgoers.
He urged people to think about their own struggles in life, have faith in themselves, and have aspirations of greatness.
“No matter where you are from, if you desire to succeed in life, you will succeed. I have faith in you and know you can improve on what Kennedy Agyapong has accomplished “.
The MP encouraged young people to extend their horizons and attitude on life and try to fit into occupations that are unrelated to what they studied.
He also urged graduates to think about a career in agriculture because they may flourish in the field and warned against having a lethargic mentality.
With education, “you can farm in the sky,” he said.
Mr. Agyapong urged young people to develop good saving and investing habits, stating that anyone who claims that their income is insufficient and prevents them from saving is in a fool’s paradise.
He said, “Let’s work hard in this country,” vowing to be more dedicated to the graduate job drive.
“I won’t stop until I see young people graduate from college with jobs,” he declared.
The MP was accorded a rousing welcome with cannon blasts and a brass band parade at the Church following his previous visit to the Ho Municipality caused continuous buzz after he was “rejected” by the Asogli State.
The MP contributed GHC 50,000 to a fundraising for the building of an office complex.
The parish priest, Rev. Father Benjamin Gawu, pointed out how government programs, such as the Free SHS, reduced the pressure on parents to prepare their children for the future and said that such measures should be encouraged.
