iPhone 15 Pro Max could have the thinnest bezels ever – and that makes us nervous

If a recent rumor is true, Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max may boast the smallest smartphone bezels ever seen.

This assertion has been made by well-known Twitter leaker Ice Universe(opens in new tab), who believes that the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s bezel will be 1.55mm wide.

It contrasts with the Xiaomi 13, which, according to Ice Universe, holds the record for having the thinnest display bezels at 1.81mm, making that smartphone appear remarkably svelte.

According to MacRumors(opens in new tab), which was the first to notice the tweet, the Xiaomi 13 actually has 1.61mm bezels on three sides and 1.81mm on the bottom edge. Apple is still on course to surpass any measurement, notwithstanding.

Given that the iPhone 14 Master has a bezel that is 2.17mm wide, if the 1.55mm bezel width performs as anticipated, Apple would have successfully reduced the thickness of its smartphone by about 30%, which is no small feat.

This will undoubtedly help the iPhone 15 Expert Max look much more premium, and it will undoubtedly provide marketers some nice bragging rights to use in promotional materials.

The information is coming from a reasonably reliable source, and because we already know that both iPhone 15 Expert variants may get more slender bezels (with bent corners), this theory has some support.

If Apple’s goal is to boost its public relations, the bezels, which are the thinnest in the world, are almost a third thinner than they now are. But is this really required?

It is a really private matter. Some people worry that very thin bezels would not assist with fragility. Others might believe that since the iPhone already has quite tiny bezels, this “upgrade” is superfluous. To be fair to Apple, though, eliminating the bezels completely will likely boost the visual attractiveness in terms of luxury expectations. We then start to feel a bit apprehensive that this might be related to premium pricing matching at this point.

Recent rumors claim that Apple intends to increase the cost of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This would mark the first increase in pricing for Apple’s high-end handsets since the release of the iPhone X in 2017.

Also, the revelation of a display with the smallest bezel in history is another another sign that the retail price of the iPhone 15 Pro models may rise in tandem with the cost of materials.

Another theory suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max may have a Samsung screen from the next generation, which would probably be very bright and of very good quality. This would accentuate the luxury nature of the display on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. For the iPhone 15 Pro variants, the A17 Bionic CPU, more Memory (8GB, up from 6GB), and a periscope camera have also been discussed (for better optical zoom). Oh, and another little problem that raises the cost of manufacturing is the titanium frame.

So, the cost of the iPhone 15 Pro models is expected to increase. Certainly, we can believe it, especially in light of the threat of inflation and the fact that there hasn’t been a change in the high-end price of Apple’s devices in six years.

Indeed, it seems that a price increase is beginning to look not just likely, but essentially inevitable, at least for Pro versions of the next-generation iPhone, the more we hear on the rumor mill about Apple pushing for this new feature or spicing up this or that element of the chassis, display, or camera. The vanilla flavors may be a different story – but either way, we’ll almost certainly need to wait until September to find out.
