Government reinstated road toll
The government decided to reinstate the road tolls after the Minister of Roads and High Way, Hon. Amoako Atta, scrubbed them for a year because they are a significant source of income for the nation.
It is important to recognize the role toll booths play in the upkeep and construction of the nation’s highways.
However, the toll booths were removed by the Hon. Amoako Atta, Minister of Roads and High Way, for the purpose of raising the country’s accident rate.
Many Ghanaians opposed the Minister’s idea because toll booths were a significant source of income for the nation and provided employment for individuals.
The government will reintroduce toll booths in all newly built roads, it was announced during the presentation of the 2023 budget by the Minister of Finance.
As it has been authorized by parliament, the government has confirmed and made public this piece.
