The Black Stars were eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup after losing to Uruguay by a score of 2–0 in their final group-stage encounter. Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay were all in group H with the Black Stars team.

The Stars then managed to accumulate three points in two games, defeating South Korea 3-2 in the second game after nearly falling to Portugal in the first.

The Black Stars then required a victory or a draw in order to advance directly to the round of 16. Joseph Matthew, known for the popular song “Blessed,” warned the Ghanaian team to maintain their composure and concentration throughout the entire game.

The “Blessed” singer claims that if the Stars perform as they did in their first two games, they will lose against Uruguay. Joseph Matthew wrote on his social media accounts: “WE MUST KEEP OUR DISCIPLINE! The fact of the matter is that, if we enter this game as we did in our previous two, Ghana will lose.

All the meantime, we must maintain our composure and discipline! We haven’t done this in either of our first two games, but if we want to actually succeed in this competition, this needs to alter right now.

Suarez is not an issue for us. Discipline and poise are lacking in us. This game need a change in that, period! Huge props to @blackstarsofghana ; we possess more than enough talent to prevail.

The Black Stars’ defeat in the match was confirmation of what he had indicated. Despite the referee awarding the Stars a penalty, captain Dede Ayew’s attempt was saved by Uruguay’s goalie, who moved in the perfect direction to prevent Ghana from scoring.

Giorgian de Arrascaeta’s two goals for Uruguay were insufficient to advance them to the next stage of the competition, and they were eliminated from this year’s world cup together with the Black Stars.

Since their exit, the Ghana Blackstars team has faced harsh criticism from the country’s citizens and supporters. Many people think Otto Addo, the team’s coach, should be held accountable.
