ECG to closes down offices nationwide today
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has stated that all of its locations would close on Monday, March 20, 2023 as it prepares to launch a national revenue mobilization initiative.
The exercise, which will last one month, will begin on March 20 and end on April 20 of 2023, according to the electricity distribution firm.
The ECG states that the exercise will have an impact on business operations at its head office, regional offices, and district offices, with the exception of Customer Service Centers (CSC), in order to allow top management and staff to fully participate.

In a public notice, it stated that “this significant revenue mobilization exercise will target all categories of customers in arrears, including State-Owned Enterprises, and will be monitored by special teams who will apprehend and prosecute customers who attempt to interfere with the exercise, and/or undertake illegal self-reconnection after disconnection.
The notice added asked all devoted customers of the power distribution firm to pay their bills immediately out of an abundance of caution in order to prevent disconnection and the associated reconnection penalties.
Additionally, the notification stated that uncooperative clients who refuse to pay off their obligation to the business after being served with the final demand notice “shall be arraigned before the Court of Law.”
