E-levy: We support downward review – Mobile Money Operators
Calls for a reduction in the Electronic Levy have the support of the Association of Mobile Money Operators (MMOs) (E-Levy).
Dela Abosti, president of MMOs, stated, “We favor the reassessment of the E-levy and soon.”
On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Mr. Abotsi announced that the association supported the reduction of the E-levy tax policy during the business portion of the 505 news analysis show on Class 91.3 FM in Accra.

“We have completed our internal survey, and we will soon make that information public,” he stated.
In light of this, our group supports the policy review because it will shed light on the MMO industry.
The government has already been urged to lower the electronic transactions levy (E-levy) from 1.5% to 0.1% by Dr. Ken Ashigbey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Telecommunications Chamber.
He claimed that the implementation of the 1.5% e-levy had been useless for the government’s goals and the expansion of Ghana’s economy.
Dr. Ashigbey noted in an interview that while advocating for the tax measure to be eliminated would be callous given the government’s desperate need for cash amid the economic crisis, lowering it to 0.1% would recondition the digital economy and increase revenue for the government.
