Apple showed interest in buying Man Utd
Technology behemoths Apple is considering spending an astounding £5.8 billion to purchase Manchester United.
The Glazers, who own United, have chosen to sell the team after giving in to pressure from supporters who wanted them out.
The club will be sold by the American billionaires to the highest bidder, and Apple executives have showed interest in talking about a prospective sale.
With an estimated net value of $2 trillion as of this month, Apple is the largest tech business in the world, with annual revenues of approximately £326 billion.
The California-based company has never owned a soccer team the size of United.
However, CEO Tim Cook is eager to investigate the potential benefits that owning United would bring, and he will schedule meetings with The Raine Group as one of the banks selected to handle the transaction.
