2023 budget to be read Nov 24
The date for the 2023 budget presentation on the floor of parliament has been established as Thursday, November 24.
The Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin, disclosed this when he gave the Parliament’s business statement for the upcoming week.
Ghana’s negotiations for $3 billion over three years with the IMF are being led by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
Despite his position, Minority MPs and several Members of the Majority want him sacked before the budget is presented for mismanaging public money, which contributed to the recession.
It’s unclear whether Mr. Ofori-Atta will deliver the budget or not.
The Post-Budget Retreat for the MPs will be held at the Volta Regional Capital, which has alarmed Tema West MP Carlos Ahenkora.
The Volta Serene Hotel will be the site of the post-budget workshop, which is scheduled to run from Friday, November 25, 2022, to Monday, November 28, 2022.
